Here
are links to some interesting websites - including friends
and other music-related topics.
www.earx-tacy.com -The greatest record store in the world.
www.guitar-emporium.com -
Absolutely the greatest guitar shop on the planet. From Clapton
to Keith Richard, and everyone in between - this is where
they buy their guitars. Personally, I’ve bought more
than
I can count.
www.expectingrain.com - Noted for being a site for Bob Dylan
fans, which it is, it’s also a great source for info
and news about all sorts of music, art and culture. I visit
for a while every evening.
www.gregmartin.com - The personal site for my dear friend
Greg, who is the lead guitarist for The Kentucky Head Hunters.
One of my most memorable shows was when Greg joined me on
stage and wowed the crowd with his great guitar playing.
www.petercase.com - Peter’s musical past and present
are so deep, that you need to visit his site to learn more
about him. We started out at the same time as street singers
in San Francisco, and we still do shows together from time
to time.
www.jasonwilber.com - Jason is a wonderfully talented singer-songwriter
with some great albums under his belt. I’ve done some
shows with Jason, and he is a great performer. Along with
his own career, he is the lead guitarist for John Prine.
Great work if you can get it.
www.chrissmither.com - Chris is the real deal - an acoustic
bluesman who has written hits for Bonnie Raitt, Diana Krall
and a lot of other big stars. I’ve opened for Chris
a few times - and I’m glad I was the opener because
no guitar player in their right mind would want to follow
Chris. His guitar playing is spellbinding.
www.staceyearle.com - Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart are a
magnificent duo. On stage they captivate their audiences
with their unique blend of original Americana, country and
folk styles. Off stage they are just about the kindest people
you can ever meet. I did a show with them recently, and five
minutes after we met, I felt like I had known them for years.
Stacey is a great songwriter, mentored by her big brother,
Steve Earle. |
